In March of this year, the new and ultramodern technical ‘Cremaere’ crematorium went operational. Cremaere Crematorium has a unique business concept that aims at carbon neutral working. It contains a fully electrically operating cremator fed by sustainably procured wind energy.
The hearse that is used to collect the deceased runs on biogas and organic urns are standardly used for cremains. This makes Cremaere Crematorium one of the most sustainable crematoria of the Netherlands.
Cremaere Crematorium is managed and run by Hans de Kluijver, who already has years of experience in the funeral industry. De Kluijver: “We expect that families and funeral directors will make extensive use of our technical crematorium. The fully sustainable concept is expected to appeal to many people.”
