Just about every crematorium works with a cremulator that separates the ash of the deceased from exogenous materials such as artificial hips, artificial knees, screws, pacemakers, but also from the coffin’s bronze handles etc. Up till now, the process that separates iron from non-ferrous materials also took place in this cremulator.

The innovative company Orthometals has itself greatly optimised and refined the latter process and currently collects these materials from 650 crematoria in the Netherlands and abroad in order to process them. As an answer to this important development, DFW Europe has designed and manufactured a new type of cremulator in which only the ash remains have to be separated from other exogenous materials. The intended result is a very user-friendly cremulator that is easier to handle, from the perspective of both employment conditions and results.
